Zach was born in Sydney, Australia, but grew up in a small French town in Quebec, Canada called Gaspé before moving to Perth in Western Australia. He is a lover of all genres of films and filmmakers, but in particular Buster Keaton, Mike Leigh, Bertrand Tavernier, Bong Joon-Ho, Vittorio de Sica, and Jiri Menzel. He is a film student at Western Sydney University.
